Finally off to Uk on Sunday to load an old Student onto my pal's truck full of domestic appliances, dunno if he knows quite how heavy it is....still, he owes me one!
The question is, for a basic turner like me, not engaged in making hyper critical parts for a space shuttle, would it be simpler to replace the motor with a single phase one than set up a Chinese VFD?
The current 3 phase motor is apparently single speed by the way.
From what I read setting up VFD's may be a serious challenge to someone whose electrical/electronic knowledge runs out pretty quickly.
