Help with project

I’m currently building a trailer project and ideally need to either raise the trailer body or lower the wheels

Currently the wheels / tyres are sitting half way against the body.

I need completely clearance to be able to transform the trailer into a flat bed without having a bump in the way.

Any suggestions other than welding the frame higher. How can I lower the wheels

Please can somebody give me any advice on how I can sort the height out please?

Never seen a stop lock worth more than what it's protecting ....only joking...sort of .

I think you have a real task on your hands there, the easy solution is to build up and across but that will make it quite a high platform and I am unsure what capacity that suspension system would be rated at, I suspect not a lot.

To lower the wheels would mean replicating the fixing areas within a separate frame that could then be made to fit the original trailer frame at the height required, not too difficult if you are familiar with that type of work but essential that the design is correct as well as the welding strength of course.

It’s getting transformed into a untilies trailer carrying loads between 500kg to 1000kg. Breaker already

I’m unsure of what I can do to increase because I don’t really want the load to push a support out the way if I were to install a fender that protected it inside the cage.

would it be practical to widen the body of the trailer to get the required load width and leave the wheels at the same height

Ideally I didn’t want the wheels to be boxed in with the frame I wanted them below

not to be too picky but why don't u sell that trailer and build a new one from scratch.........then u'll get what u want and u wont have clean that thing up for welding and or painting.....just an idea.........sorry.......

I realised that but didn't explain my thought very well which was to widen the cross members of the bed to allow the bed width you want between the wheels. the downside is that the trailer would be wider than it is now

not sure about the legal implications of doing this but as far as I can see from the pictures the wheels are not on a solid axle so it might be possible

This. Looks like a lemon... maybe the pics make it look worse than it is.

A lot of work there to accomplish that. Best way would be to grind off the welds onthe trailing arm support beam then weld it back on with a spacer block (another beam or box section) between the two. You'd also need to drop the spring mounts.

them wheel clamps soon fall off when you start towing.

can you not just fit longer shocks and springs?
