Fitting a Bar Mixer Shower

I'm building a new shower room with a thermastically controlled bar mixer shower. The wall behind the shower is a new stud wall, this will be sheeted with Hardiebacker board and then tiles on top with the pipe work coming up through the stud wall and out through the tiles.
I've bought a shower to fit but it looks as if it relies on the pipework to hold the bar mixer to the wall, my question is how do you stop the pipework from moving?

Clamp the pipes around where they come through. You're not putting loads of stress on the mixer unit. Do seem to recall seeing some type of backing plate which could mount to a wall in the Toolstation book too though. Can vaguely recall seeing it as I bought a new mixer unit the other day.

Stick a ply noggin in and use pipe clips below the elbow

27249 is the Toolstation number.

i use toolstation 15mm elbows and bolt to wall part number 75070 or equivalent approx £2 each if elbows or similar straight version depending on where your pipe inlet is coming from

u need one of these. easy to fit and pipe up .all the plumbers use them https://www.screwfix.com/p/h-c-contemporary-bar-valve-fixing-kit-chrome-effect/76919i looked at a few and these were the easiest to pipe up

Depends on the shower, the better Mira’s just need 25mm of copper poking out, uses an olive and you just plug and screw the fitting, no messing with the depth and tile thickness etc

Those fitting jigs are ok if you know the finished wall thickness but I tend to fit the better showers and make fitting easier, the 1/2” to 3/4” dog legs are rubbish

I wish I'd known about those back plates before I fitted my Mira shower! What a PITA they are fitting in a brick wall....
