That is a nice vice, a little on the pricey side though.
However the eBay seller got back to me and accepted an offer of £180 so there's a 6" abwood on its way to me.

I think I might have been spoilt. picked a 4 inch tilt and swivel vice up for 70 quid and a decent 8inch vice for 30 quid ebay seems to have put the prices up in the last few years
Kurt are decent but personally I think they are like Bridgeport, their name sells them more than anything, Gerrardi are 10x the vice but hey that is only my opinion.
So I take it my wee 4" vice was too knocked up for you even at the knockdown price of £30?
I have a 6" Abwood which I may let go for the right money but it will be a lot more than £30
Pic below, it has soft jaws on it, should have the original hard jaws some place but not seen for a while and not raking if no interest.

How much more than £30? I'd have to dial in the cost of getting it to S. Wales though.

turn the jaws upside down and they wont be stepped on the top 
Machined steps in the top of a vice jaw can be quite handy as it goes and one of my jaw sets has been mutilated in this way deliberately, it saves having to dig out the parallels to sit thinner things on and lets you machine up to near the edges without risking hitting them.
Their use in this way and in conjunction with stop pins etc for faster production setups is covered in harveys machine shop tips book.

Holes are below centre so not an option unless you skim the top, that would then make them lower than the top of the vice.turn the jaws upside down and they wont be stepped on the top
A lot more but not as much as @grim_d paid has mine as the hard jaws stepped so that will have to be taken into account

u would choke if I said how much its worth . after collecting tools and machines from all the sales every month over 40 years u can get selectable on price

I know you're a Scot, but you might have Portuguese genes- trying to get a straight price out of anyone around here is like getting the truth out of a politician. I really have little idea what it's worth, and I have to get it to S. Wales and then to Portugal. What's it worth to you?

The way I look on tools that are paid for and owe me nothing is they can sit and do nothing and if one day I need it it is there.
Make me an offer but bear in mind it won't be anywhere near the £30 of the smaller vice I mentioned earlier

Arrived today, works great, going to strip, clean and maybe paint.
Not convinced the jaws are original but have no reference to compare against. Just look thicker than most?
Here it is next to the rubbish I have been using. It might be a touch too big really but I would like a bigger mill in future anyway. Makes getting to the table power feed a bit of a faff but such is life!
