Hi there, I was wondering if there is anyone who can help with fault on my Clarke 185e. It was actually given to me last year by my uncle, but I am not sure how long he had it. It had a problem when I got it, the torch was staying live and the gas flow was continuous. I had a fiddle with it, put it back together and it was fine, worked as it should do. When I used it last week it started fine but then went back to the old problem (live torch, constant gas) so I had another fiddle with it and now there is no current to the torch and no gas flow. I am thinking that a replacement circuit board might be needed, but what are the chances of finding one at an economical cost?

How is the gas turned on with that welder. With a lot of the smaller Clarkes it's turned on via a big brass valve in the torch. Worth unscrewing the screws that hold the two sides of the torch together if you haven't already done so. If it were that type I'd guess cheap and easy to botch torch trigger issues.
