dried up with us this week ,just windy ,combines ,balers, ploughs ,one pass,all flat out ,potatoe guys working very late.No testing done today as the ground is far too wet to take the tractor over. The rain hasn't really let up here for the last 6 weeks; the ground is saturated and can't take anymore rain. The weather is to break tomorrow and be dry for 2 days then back to more rain.

even those fancy combines with tracks would struggle down here this week.

Still been struggling from what ive seen up in aberdoom, wet soggy looking bales everywhere and combines chewing up fields.
Have you ever thought of a solar pond pump to save you filling buckets to water your sheep, were lucky enough to have water running through our place so only one field with out. But considering a cheapy experiment if the butt of my shed doesnt suffice.

This wee belter was sold at a recent local farm sale...
£14k for the digger and £2.5k for the knocker.
The mount for converting from 3 point hitch to the digger isn't massively complicated. The BIL & I have been looking at making one for putting a Bryce Suma onto a JS130. Not difficult to run a 3/4" line from the boom end direct to the hydraulic tank either...
Good quality machines those Vector post knockers. Vector used to make the Bryce Suma models before a fall out about 10 years ago. Check out Big Dog Fabrications on facebook - they make the Bryce Suma machines. Some quality fabrication pictures to have a nosey at.
Still no testing on any big posts due to the weather .
Having been directed to check out "Big Dog Fabrications" on Facebook and looking at their photos I now have a better idea of how the Bryce Suma/Vector Powerdrive telescopic mast works, so I'll be reworking the original mast I set aside and fitting it onto the machine within the next few weeks. All I was missing off my original mast to get it to work right was 2 lengths of 12mm round bar
- something you can't see on the finished masts as it's inside it. So simple, yet effective.

I spent most of yesterday beating 3" stabs into a fairly hard banking with the Bryce.
Takes a bit of practice to deliver a gentle enough pat to knock them in straight without shattering them
Actually makes settling 8" strainers/gateposts fun rather than a total pain

Was a decent enough day yesterday for it. Did you get my PM I sent you @Scruffywelder ?
Managed to get a few hours to work on the post knocker today. I moved the left hand hydraulic leg ram brackets to outside of the leg so I could get the ram fitted. A minor measurement error way back at the beginning of the project meant it would not fit with the counter balance in place.
Once I got the ram fitted on I then did a very agricultural spray job on it and it's now black instead of "rust red".

Here it is in its "agricultural" paint job with obligatory H&S warning on the hammer weight!
some hoses still to tidy up a bit with cable ties and a label for all the controls. If I can remember who on the forum does the engraved aluminium plates I'll see if they can do one for me.

It's neither a Narpy or Beanie one as I think they are rubbish looking using the original D3 grill surround. It's a commercially available one I got off eBay that is far more like the D4 one.
As to the hoses, yes I'll be getting the wrap round plastic safety sheath once I work out what size I need to get.
