Well worth a watch
Only watched a bit so far - great video - will watch the rest tonight.
Talking of old techniques i remembering reading about the casting of the turbine blades on the RR Olympus engines for Concorde. They had so many problems due to heat they decided to pump fuel through the blades but how to cast them? One of the engineers was a history buff so he turned to Bronze Age technology - they used the lost wax method which goes back to about 4000BC!
Cant find link where has it gone
Great watch, a friend of my father's worked there from apprenticeship, he died a few years ago, I will send his daughter a link, she did work experience there, eventually becoming an engineer.
Baldock and Wilcox? Funnily enough, I put the subtitles on for my father as he is deaf, not sure if they are put on automatically but they were full of errors.I wonder if they're related to the co that make fork lifts & diggers.
They are done automatically and are known for not being great, try it on one of Doubleboost's videos.not sure if they are put on automatically but they were full of errors.
