They are 30 to 40 year old vanguard blades new old stock from my parent's shop many moons ago. Probably the best that money can't buy. My dad would come down from heaven a give me a slap if I sold any. They'll be passed on to my lad eventually. I reckon there's about 500 blades in total.

I have never done the finger thing, But constant gentle adjustment, It just becomes second nature after a while, Starting the blade on your scribed line etc, moving the blade back and forth without this slight guidance and expecting the blade to cut true is a definite non starter every time,

I am quite aware of this Gordon, but when the blade goes off to the left, when you are trying to steer it right? I only have the problem with these blades. Not going to chuck them though, I just use them for rough stuff.

Mine came in a posh plastic box, you've got the cooking version there

Funny that, it's a very old frame I use, it just struck me if it's slightly bent, maybe putting a slight twist in the blade, I've dug another one out to try.

I must have a hacksaw fetish, I have at least six or seven, all good makes, BUT try to use them as little as possible these days, 0.8mm cutting disc is now usually my go to "hacksaw"
