Engineering reference site - brilliant!

Folks - I was just searching on the weldability of a steel, and came across this site.

It's an absolutely fantastic reference site for anything to do with day to day engineering. Have a good trawl around and see what it can show you, and bookmark it. Better than any reference book i've come across.

Hats off to Roy Beardmore, the site creator.

Have a look at the components section. It has basic sizes, thicknesses, weights etc of steel section, girder etc. There's loads of stuff on shaft sizes to British Standards, keyways... all sorts. Not just calculations, by any means.

dohhh I bought a cheepy keyboard from Tescos ****** rotten...

this is handy on steels, Australian but much crosses and references over, theres a big pdf with a decent grades handbook, which has the weldability of just about all the major groups of carbon steels.......
