Yeah correct, they are designed for up to 16swg if my memory is working ok.

Yeah the throatless shear goes to 14swg on steel and 10swg aluminium
The bigger models go thicker. Cheers for the thought though
Plus I don't want to be responsible for it in case it breaks for any reason I'd feel terrible.

Oooooooh you cheeky devil you. You snuck that one in under the radar. Please keep the thread active with your experience on it I'm very keen to hear your thoughts. These things are discussed but rarely are they actually rated. Mine will be along in the next week and I'll do the same. Some research on blade setting suggests you set them at 25thou apart. This is recommended by Beverly so it's gonna be right as they designed the things.

I deal with 0.5-2mm steel/stainless and up to 3mm on Alu so the smaller model would fit the bill.

We will soon find out as that's what I'm going for. In fairness the SS side of things for me is usually 1.5 and under with an exception of 2mm occasionally. I can't fold 2mm SS in any decent size either so I try not toneed to go that thick. MPs1 is the weapon of choice for me.

I have had both an original Edwards one of those and a Keetona, and 1.6mm in stainless was their absolute limit and didn't really do them much good, generally for stainless you can halve the stated capacity of the machine in mild steel, they are a very useful tool though, very good for cutting curves.

0.025" would be for maximum material thickness on a B2, the clearance needs to be set relative to thickness of material being cut. At that clearance 1mm steel sheet would fold and tear rather than shear. Would be interesting to see if Baileigh quote any settings for their shear and the setting out of the box. Hopefully they are assembled better than the green and yellow machines from another machine supplier I had hassle with!

The 0.025" sounded large for the material sizes you work with mentioned earlier in the thread, nothing worse than getting a new bit of kit and being disappointed by it's performance only to find something as simple as correct clearance spoiling your new toy! 
Set correctly (and they are not exactly difficult to adjust) they should slice through the sizes you want to work with with ease, I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on with them. Check the hex key fit on the grub screws, some of the cheaper kit are awful and a decent set of screws makes a nice quality improvement.

I'm looking forward to having a play. I've been modifying the folder tonight with a new top bow to allow tighter folds on the gages I want to cut on the shear. Some squares to rounds are in order to get me back into practice. I'll definitely update on the shear onces it's up and slicing and I've done some scrap with it.
