Holesaw and die grinder bit question.

Hi everyone,
Im helping my friend make some feet for his rear hiab legs.
Basically I know what I need to do but I need a 35mm and 111mm hole saw. I need quality ones though, they need to cut through potentially 10mm thick steel plate, three times.

Also, need some die grinder bits, I think the carbide ones seem to be popular but not sure where to get some decent ones?
Any ideas on either?

buy starret arbours and screwfix hole saws get some garrison rotary burs there the best slow speed and loads of cutting compound on the hole saws

Garryson bits are decent Kim, eBay has them. Expect about 5 - 10 quid per bit depending on fancy-ness and what deals you find. 6mm or ¼" size.

You need someone with a CNC plasma table. Willingly cut it for you on mine but I'm a fair way away from you. We do have members fairly close to you who have one.

High speed with the carbide burrs, they dull if run slow according to my supplier.
I strongly suggest eye protection when using them at all times, the chips they throw are nasty.

As said you'll need some drill to cut 100m through 10mm plate, I'm assuming you are making large washers for the feet, an easy job with a plasma cutter or an oxy fuel set up with a trammel, I would just send them to a profiling / laser cutting company, they will likely be cheaper than buying the tools and struggling to do it yourself.

not sure which side of the hole you need but discs in 10mm seem to be readily available that might be another option.

Thanks everyone, It didn't cross my mind about the power of the drill but now you've said it, that's clearly a big issue. I did however think about getting it plasma cut. I'll speak to my friend tomorrow.

Got you, and no, be easier if they were both there. I may message an eBay seller tomorrow see if they will send me some, or look for a local place to cut some.

The OD is flexible a bit. But after what people have said, I think I'll get someone to plasma cut some, it'll save me breaking any of my stuff.

Thanks to slim jim. I had my friend order it from that company, he's put it through the business so not to bad for him
Got the stuck bolts out of the feet for him too, after he savaged them!
