i think its because you lose the trigger + through the torch
You might be able to isolate (like the X in post 37) the brass strip that operates the gas valve AND shorts the trigger wire to the gas valve (and the thick cable connected to it by sleeving it but then you need to add a micro switch Which is what most other torches have. That would need to connect to the wire in torch and then an an extra wire going back to the pcb but the pcb is NOT like the 110 machine pcb I posted earlier so not sure where it would need to connect to !

Problem is I have been working on the assumption it was the same pcb as the 110 but it's not because it does not even have the on board (pcb) transformer.
The switching does not directly feed power to the motor but "operates" the circuit that does. This will be the transistors and the speed control pot that control the amount of DC voltage going to the motor. The brass strip touching the gas valve simply completes a circuit (via the thick wire on torch) for the wire feed.

The problem seams to be that the diagrams for most of the smaller clarkes have the pin 5 connection which is used as a return from torch switch on some. But the pcb looks different ! even though the manual for the 100e Mk2 shows the "usual" pcb and it's connection 5.
Maybe, if it'll fit.
But if you're running the torch on negative you don't really want to run a positive up there too unless you like melty-melty times
Just look at the wiring, figure out what you've got and run the sense wire to the torch lead.

Would making a wire like this be possible? It looks like my gun. If I just run a wire from the + terminal to the gun and then figure out another piece of copper to contact to somehow would that make the welder work safely? At least enable the motor?
