Band saw blades

Iv got one of the clarke 6x4 band saws bought it second hand with 4 spare blades. With teeth that resemble a hack saw blade anyway last one broke and a mate said to try this firm local to me

Phoned up told the guy what I had and was cutting mild steel and aluminum he recommended a by-metal blade which I have to say looked like a rip saw blade...... but really good I think the cutting time has been cut in half, the finish is 100% better and square. No jumping of the blade like the clark ones did very happy.
Rang up at 11am and collected at 1pm
£15 each + vat

Bi metal blades don't tend to cut any quicker or resemble any difference regarding how it looks to the equivalent tpi carbon steel blades but what they do,do better is they last loads longer.
I have used both and when the carbon ones are sharp they will rip steel as quickly as an m42 but the m42 will keep ripping for a lot longer and the carbon ones go dull. Use a cutting fluid/blade coolant system on it with bi metal blades and expect up to 10x the life over steel blades.
