I have found if the material is soft and can't take the pressure of the countersink getting a good shove into the hole, brass plate springs to mind bent a couple trying to countersink holes, then increasing the speed, a lot, 1,500-2000rpm range and go lightly, it will chatter at first but then will "polish" the hole once you stop drilling in

That is an understatement, I took a look at the price of some drills

I ordered some countersinks though for myself and my father

Their stuff isn't cheap unless on offer although it is good quality. When stuff is on offer though you can get some bargains. For example I have two haimer 3D tasters, got them for about £150 plus vat each, normally they are double that price.
