I would go for a Fluke for sure. I've used them a lot of times and they never let me down. The precision is very good and the device won't get damaged fast. I came to this by using the information on a few different websites. But this page: http://bestmoisturemeters.com/multimeter/fluke-multimeter/ was the one that helped me make the decision. The page explains why the Fluke multimeter is so good and also the different types that are available. It really helped me I hope it can help you to. I dpnt think youhb can go wrong with fluke. I have an 89 and i love it. Not cheap mind.

They are very nice but it's hard to justify the outlay if you're not a pro sparkie

A lot of sparks don't know how to use them properly, but Flukes are pretty idiot proof and will protect you better than some real cheapie's if something stupid is done.
EEVBlog have some reviews iirc, might be worth a Google but they are more electronics orientated so depends on your application.
RS Pro or ISO-tech aren't bad for the money and I'm sure there are plenty of others that will do the required job cheaper without compromise.
I must have about ten flukes but I rarely recommend them for people doing hobby stuff.
