I was told years ago that Facom made the Halfords spanners, don't know if that's true .
I was on a new build multi million £ chem plant a few years back we were issued with silver line tools, they were absolute c**p in fact they wer,nt as good as that I slung my boat level and used a banana out of my bait box instead. Doubt if they'll ever get a queens award to industry or any other award come to that.like a lot
Maybe they got shipped out to the same factory as britool stuff when Stanley bought them. I'm not sure even all facom gear is made in France nowadays as there used to be "made in France" or "facom France" stamped on the side, now a lot of it doesn't have that.Maybe because they were supplied by the Stanley group which Facom is in. I would pretty well guarantee if they were from the Stanley group it would have been made in Taiwan/China and not in the Facom factory in France. At the price point it's simply not possible nor more over does any of their tool look remotely like Facom.
I'm glad, cos I love my facom stuff!
Not used them myself but they do look very nice, not flex head though.Anyone tried the Wera Joker combi spanners ?
That's a shame, though I already own enough tools for several lifetimes so it's unlikely I'll be buying much more - I'll just have to make sure I keep them well looked after !,
If I were making tools in European factories I would proudly make the point by putting the country of manufacture on the tool. These are supposedly Frenchmen and I doubt they would miss the opportunity to let everybody know that they made the tools.
I'd agree with you on anything to do with cars, but Facom do/did make decent tools.I don't remember seeing anything with 'Made in France' on it. If I did I'd put to straight back down.
