Looking for a new 280/300amp Mig (3 phase) for our farm workshop, what do you guys reccomend for value for money, weld characteristics, reliability etc.....
Hi Dan. Have you tried PM weld equip. He should be able to sort you out with info and a price on a Portamig 300 amp mig (3 phase). There is also a new range of oxford migs available (oxfordwelders.co.uk). Both are manufactured in britain and have a good reputation for quality and reliablity.
MigTigArc list some machines that go up to that, including the Oxford, and the "MTA", which I believe is just a rebadged Portamig. Might give you some ideas of what is available and prices.
Been offered a Tecarc 363 today for £1050+vat, does that sound reasonable? that includes torch (MB25), regulator, big spool of 1.0mm wire, cables etc...
------
Also offered a Tecarc 86i Plasma cutter for £1400+vat? does that sound a good deal? had a few items go "missing" so need to replace them asap, along with a Tecarc Inverter (MMA) welder 166i Duel voltage £250ish ex vat
Do the above sound decent value? and is the aulity there? I seam to think they are the same as portamig etc....
