Drupal developer combined with infosec stuff. Started out as an electronics design engineer before I got into Drupal. I've been making stuff and collecting tools since I was a little kid though. Professional problem solver, I guess!

From Higher education into a job at Aerial Facilities making antenna combining, moved to Pye telecoms in Manchester, Pennine Comms, Tactico, National Telecoms, Alcatel and then to the latest radio comms company, been doing the same for something like 40 years, most is self taught, or time served what ever you call it. General interest in electronics, Radio ham etc.
Installed Regional systems and systems for Blue Chip outfits in my time and also helped to decommission them as technology moves on and markets change. Was Operations manager and also given a H&S role, now semi-retired, or at least 3 day week type thing.
Basically when I was a lad, my dad was a capstan operator for a hydraulics company and decided it was a dirty and somewhat bad job, so I was guided to electronics.
Major interest in metal, have lathe, Milling machines band-saw, etc. Hence a garage full of the stuff.
Did 14 years at BT starting as an apprentice. Left over 20 years ago, went to uni, got a job in IT, now an IT manager with a small global team of engineers that test various solutions to death. Part time smallholder, part time wood and metal butcher.
Served my time as a Maintenance fitter.
Sold tools for a year
High pressure pumps service engineer.
Engineer in various factorys.
In some of the gaps I did my NEBOSH, C&G Furniture restoration and Photography.

Apprentice electrician for 4 years untill l was made up then layed off in 1989!
Unemployed for 6 months then worked in a 10 pin bowling alley maintaining the machines, shift work on minimum wage before it was invented!
Back to electrical installation work on commercial and industrial installaions.
A short time running a motorcycle shop that didn't work out.
And the last 16 years in temporary site electrics going from a sparks up to "head" tester. Now I seem to be going back to dogs body, whipping boy, unappreciated mug.

I trained as a mechanic and have worked at all sorts of main dealers from lada to rolls royce, mainly mazda(3 times).In my 30 years of worked I've tried my hand at service reception, audio and alarm fitting, village garages and restoration(everything apart from paint).In the last 6 years I've learned car upholstory which so far is my favorite and what I'm doing now.I've also been a part time stay at home dad for the last 10 years.
