The depth of cut will depend on your feed, material and tooling. Set your feed then start a cut. you'll soon see if the cut is to deep or if you can make a deeper one. If this is Al then you can use parrafin or WD40 as a lubricant. Its not a big part, so it won't take that long even with a light cut.
