lol ,, you just need a decent tech ,, trouble is that spec save and many others are geared towards selling product , you need an old hand to adjust glasses for a great fit ,,,, the difference can only be a wee bend of a couple of degrees or a gentle rounding of a curve , maybe the curve moved up the side by a few mm , but it all adds up , and has a huge effect on how a pair of glasses feel ,,, they have to be comfy or the whole experience is ruined for the wearer ,,, Id rather spend half an hour with a customer and have them actually wear their glasses than see some one go out the door unhappy , and their glasses stay in the box.Have to agree about the cheap & poor quality of frames at Spec Savers ... where can I get wider bridges and softer nose pads on the frames or frames with arms that hold the specs to your head when you lean forward over something( main cause of my glasses falling off my head? Had hoped to get Army gas mask Mk 1's (John Lennon style) with a spring arm round my ear but last time I tried no one appears to sell them.
I never thought of myself as having a Dugong's nose, but spec savers seem to think so and therefore won't cater for my broader nose bridge. I used ton have all six pairs with a tiny spring covered in super soft silicone to rest on my nose , they were fantastic , no painful red marks on the bony area at all .
Just had a thought Tom , do you do John Denver wide bridge soft support spring wire arms frames for a prescription posted to you ? . PM me please if you do .
