I will try it out on Ac. I've used pulse on Dc before a few times for welding stainless tubes and plates and I couldn't have done without it. It was the whole reason I got a pulse tig to begin with, to replace my non pulse unit.
I find on aluminium that different parameters like frequency and balance can be used to achieve the same effect. But I will try it anyway as I'm curious to know the effects. I do tend towards the opinion however that careful combination of Ac frequency and balance probably give you similar effects as using pulse does with Dc.
