Basically when you are cutting with any type of tool, you get deflection and forces fighting against the tool.what do you mean
So if theoretically if you were to dial in a 1mm cut (2mm of the diameter) the tool may deflect and cut maybe 0.8mm if you then travel back in the opposite direction and repeat the cut without altering the dial the tool would now remove the remaining 0.2mm.
This happens particularly with a boring bar as small diameter tool with lots of stick out.
