never heard of antifreeze , thats a new one on me
you would think it just rolls off most things?

In my wisdom, I once filled (well, part filled) the heater channels of a VW beetle I'd just finished restoring with waxoil a bit watered with white spirit to make it stay liquid. I'd done a good job of the restoration so, prior to drilling drain holes, it was well sealed. In the ladder chassis on buses and trams mainly.
Either gear oil or antifreeze seems a bit of a no go for roadgoing vehicles in the sills for me, I don't think I'd want that weeping out on a warm day onto my tyres
Once you've put ACF on any paint won't stick to it.
what do you like ? always happy to hear about new optionsYou can say what you like but having tried various products over the years and done long term exposure tests, I can confirm that Lanolin products, including the thicker "marine" type stuff, is not the best. Absolutely not worth the money.

i did some lanolin spray on out focus later sept , the rust is showing through so not overly impressed , thats on stuff like suspension arms /subframes
im beginning to think use anything but jet wash /scrape it down once a year.....i think a tenners worth of aerosol stonecchip would have held up better than this lanolinSame here, recently bought a 4wd swb transit that's remarkably clean on the bodywork, would like to preserve that if possible.

do you not find it washes off almost straight away ? is good for internal or sheltered partsACF-50 works pretty well......
I didn't want to get involved with the inevitable bun fight A lot of it depends on how much time you want to invest !what do you like ? always happy to hear about new options
