Sorry to reopen a dead thread but I'm interested how you're all getting on with the GYS migs.
I've been reading the posts on here off and on for a while now and just wanted to add my two penneth to the debate.
I'm a hobby welder but I've done a fair bit of stick welding over the years and I've just been introduced to mig in the last 8 months or so. I've been using a little GYSMI 130P stick welder for about 3 months now and it's a great little welder, so much so that when it came time to get shot of the my dreadful Sealey mightymig150 I didn't have to look far for a replacement. I'm just preparing to order a GYS SMARTmig 162 and decided to start doing some research and it led me here.
I contacted oxford welding supplies via ebay and they've been extremely helpful and they seem to rate them over some of the more well known competition. They're also giving me a good deal on the shipping to the Isle of Lewis which is always a bonus. I'm also happy to see that there's a lot more availability and presence in the UK so here's hoping it's going to be a happy relationship and it can't be worse that a mightymig.
