Weigh the resin and catalyst on a set of kitchen scales, drape a layer of clingfilm over the scales first so that they do not get covered in resin.

I used to buy a lot of stuff from Glasplies in Southport, They do some good videos on how to do roofs. First thing you got to know is that ordinary polyester isnt a very good adhesive & tends to delaminate given the chance. Bonds tend to be mechanical, this means scratching up the surface with a sharp coarse sanding disc, I have found its always a good idea to give the area a primer coat of well catalysed resin & allow it to kick off before applying the mat & more resin. One layer of mat isnt enough, you need two to do a decent job.
