I've a friend with a decent sized shaper and a big Manchester Rapidor power hacksaw. I would like both machines as they're substantially bigger than those I currently have, but we aren't sure how much they should be.
The shaper has been stood for a long time and is a little rusty, but the head certainly isn't seized (still moves) and I doubt it will require much, the threads to move the table aren't rusty. I think it's already single phase as there's what I think to be a capacitor on the motor, but I'm by no means certain.
The power hacksaw is a pretty big beast, again it's rusty from being stood in a shed, unfortunately I can't really see it properly where it is.
How much is the shaper worth, and assuming there's nothing obviously bent/broken on a closer look at the hacksaw what should I pay for that?
Naturally I don't want to overspend, but he's an old friend so I need to be able to tell him what the going rate is so I'm being fair.
