Depends on what I’d done the night before - being an apprentice and no exams involved with workshops training we took the opportunity to hang one on whoever we could, but apprentice money meant it wasn’t every night! So it tended to make me either hungry or wanting to vomit, depending on circumstance!!did it make u hungry
What cutting fluids can you reccomend for my cut off saw with built in pump, it will live in an unheated shed where everything goes rusty every winter, so maybe oil based ?
Is there anything cheap and homemade from off the shelf ingredients that works ?

I tried lard. Turning smelled of bacon. I had to stop using it as our west highland terrier would come into the workshop and try to eat the swarf!Anyone tried lard oil?

I use to use that also but it leaves a sticky mess after a while and needs scrapping off.I use 20 parts water 1 part rapeseed oil (cooking oil) with a dash of washing up liquid
When I was making horseshoes years ago, my boss kept a lump of suet in the hole under the beak of the anvil. You jabbed the pritchel (punch) into it before using it to punch the holes in the shoes. Yes, it did catch fire and we had no hair on the back of our hands, but the holes came out perfect!thought it was going to say for larger work dripping is used!
Fine for ally, I'd expect a smokey cut in steel though.What about WD40 , I have 5 L of it I don't need ?
I use it a lot mainly bacon grease (from frying pan then strained into a container), smells awesome , much better than the burning oil smellAnyone tried lard oil?

In my experience it vaporises much too easily for anything but light cuts in aluminium. What about WD40 , I have 5 L of it I don't need ?
