Picked one up in Aldi in Elgin on my way east to deliver the 'piggie' to my son & family. Thanks for the heads-up @Perry Owens
15kg of charcoal.
That’s a massive BBQ

we did cook 1000 burgers today! we used 30kg of coal today!
they were still glowing when we left
Where was that?
And yes I can see why you might need so much charcoal now
I throw the odd party but never used that much charcoal in one go
This also reminds me of the German bloke I knew in the Algarve. Set light to a box of fire lighters (without taking them out of the box) and put a big bag of charcoal on top, again without opening it. Wait a bit, then go back with the meat. Had a certain style...
that was at work today mate
cant have the bbqs going cold half way through when u have to feed 1000 in 1.5 hours ;-)
they might work on seasoned wood i think id like something more substantial though

Yeah, different when doing it commercially
I’m being hounded by the village pub to put on an Indian BBQ
do it I love indian food on the bbq we went to amya what a place http://www.amaya.biz/
That place looks ok, reasonably priced too for a Michelin restaurant
I use mainly wood on the BBQ these days. Wonder if one of those starters will work with seasoned wood?
CoolI found out the other night that it does, 'cos like a tit I'd nearly run out of charcoal! Trouble is if you're using a mix of 'coal and wood the wood tends to go out but with all wood it's probably be OK. You'll need a decent pair of welding gauntlets though, the flames out of the top of the starter are something to behold!
oh yes please do we love picsCool
I start of with wood, make a round of food, add smaller bits, make next round the move over to charcoal for the rest of the night.
BBQ at mine is a long slow drawn out affair wihile grazing, oh and a few beers too
Shall I post up pics of today’s affair
