I’m looking to power up this bridgeport milling machine I’ve picked up
Now I know that vfd’s are meant to be wired direct to the motor but is it possible to get 1 wired to the machines main 3 phase input so it powers all the switchgear as well?
The Bridgeport I have has X & Y power feeds which are 100v supply fed from a transformer in the main wiring cabinet, but it’s all wired via the original main wiring and linked to the motor I have been told so as a safety feature the feed motors won’t work unless the main motor is running and I have no idea how to wire it all separate as it has a control speed board for the feed motors and looks a bit involved
I’ve looked at a rotary phase converter but they are just too noisy for my garage as it’s attached to my house
Thanks
Marc
