I swapped my wp17 to a flex head & it made things a whole lot easier. You can adjust the head to get at awkward angles rather than contort your wrist.
It also helps if you can support the lead some way - make a overhead hook so that the lead is coming down to you & not dragging on your wrist. You can also drape it over your shoulder or wrap it around your forearm.
BTW your welds look quite good, especially for a beginner. I also learned gas welding & it helped me pick up tig fairly easily.
