My son bought a low mileage Toyota GT86 earlier in the year, main dealer other side of the country, extended warranty etc. Three weeks later the air con failed, Main dealer locally regased it, he had to pay for it, 3 weeks later its not working again. They had the car back 3 times & couldnt find the fault, eventually finding it on the 4th go.My dad bought a car from a well know national dealer chain, and paid something like £2k for a 3 year full extended warranty...
"This covers everything, rest assured you'll never have to worry about anything going wrong... blather blather...salesman's speak...."
A month later the air con is only blowing warm... back to the dealer.... where suddenly there is a whole host of items that aren't actually covered. AC being just one of them. Luckily it just needed regassing, £80, and it was okay afterwards.
The local outfit managed to get a "contribution" from the lot that sold him the car but he is somewhat out of pocket!
He has just told them to poke the extended warranty & canceled the direct debit. You cannot trust main dealers, Poxy shysters.
