Off road buggy/truck thing is almost complete but need a new petrol tank.
Original plan was a universal aluminium fuel cell, like found on eBay, but after searching through the scrap pile found a 50l air receiver (same as one in photo) which looks like it would do the job with minimal work.
Is there any major drawbacks? Assuming the inside of the tank isn’t horrifically rusty.
Can source 8mm barb fittings to suit easily and a filler neck can be worked out, put a breather in and probably a sight tube as a level check. anything I’m forgetting?
Or should I stop being tight and buy a proper aluminium one?
Or has anyone got a fuel cell they’d post down to Devon before end of the month? (Hoping to be racing on the 25th)
