In an engineering environment the higher pressure can also atomise coolants and cutting oils. This is also true, it will most probably also inject oil and metallic particles

Very very effective when used like that. Will also produce lots of noise, typically around 95 dB. If your in a factory where it needs to be used lots over the course of a day your noise dose soon accumulates usually resulting in noise induced hearing loss
Silenced blow guns that work on low pressure are just as effective and produce lower noise. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how good they are. Bit more expensive than cheapo guns
Funny you should say that - is it just me or does anyone find the high velocity hand dryers in public toilets are way too loud? And the force on your skin with some of them seems rather scary if you put your hand too close!
I think they're supposed to work as "air blades" and wipe the water off, we have them at work.
No not the Dyson ones.
i have one of them somewhere just use a pcl one and a blowpipe of a welding torch for high pressure stuff at 90psi . it might turn up sooner or laterMine is a Schrader given to me by my dad, probably more than 50 years old and still going strong, made from solid brass and is virtually indestructible, they come up on ebay from time to time and well worth buying if you see one.
