Not sure if this is in the right place but.. :dontknow:
I'm in the middle of rebuilding my garage, and planning to have 2 swing out metal doors both measuring 2.3 metres high and 1.8 wide. The door frames are already knocked up using 50x50x3mm angle and 25x25 box section, and plan to weld 2-3mm...
You tried Marmalade? The Insurance company that is. Been pricing up Insurance for my Brother on various cars and they always come in the cheapest.
I find on sites that compare prices are usually cheaper if you get the quotes late in the night too. Always seem to go down a few hundred quid lower...
Wire speed was right up, and power setting on six. All it has.
Just picked up a 1five1 (sodding five and six don't work) from machinemart so I'll play around with that and see if its any better tomorrow.
Right ok, know what you mean.
Does the penetration in the first pics look ok then? Not bothered about the welds looking ****, as long as they penetrate and do the job holding things together
MOD Edit: You are using language that is not allowed on the forum, hence the ****
Expecting a bit more 'blistering' 'build up'?
I'm cutting a piece of 2mm off some sheet and placing it on top of a slightly larger 2mm piece.
Patch or bracket? Sorry I'm thick as ****
You think so? I didn't think it was nowhere near enough, but then I don't know what I'm doing lol.
This is the best I can get with the en90 on max 2mm on 2mm
Need to weld some 2mm onto a transit chassis and my little en90 isn't up to the job even on full whack. So tried on a powerking 140 with power all the way up and still looks like a lack of penetration.
Went to buy a Clarke 1five1te turbo earlier but none left. But do you think it will actually...
Lol, nothing 4mm on it, but I tried doing a lap weld with 2mm on 2mm and someone on here said that's really 4mm? Either way doing that on the highest settings I had no penetration that I could see.
I'll be plating a chassis a touch so want to make sure it's a good strong weld with good...
No doubt this has been asked before but has anyone used the above on a cars/vans bodywork and how is it on it's lowest settings?
Thinking about buying one tomorrow before my VAT free offer runs out, but really cant make my mind up about it. Currently using a en90 but owning a transit I need a...
0.6mm and a bottle of hobby weld five/argon co2 mix.
Tempted to buy a new welder that can do thicker stuff mainly the chassis, but only got about 12" of welding left so cant make up my mind to blow more cash for a old transit lol, but I'll always have it if I need it.
Was going to leave the...
I've been welding up my transit using a en90 and the sills etc haven't been a problem. But I tried welding some 2mm onto some more 2mm, which you'll be doing plating the chassis. Welds look good on top but no penetration on the other side. So you may have the same trouble I have doing the...
Bit of a silly question I know, but can you? Always used a Clarke en90 on thin sheet and body work, but after laying some runs on 2mm on top of 2mm I'm only getting 'burn through' on the other side and no signs of penetration really. Doing a transit chassis one day this week and just borrowed a...
Didn't think of that, will do. Find the slightest movement of the wire feed cocks it up and it doesn't seem 'right'. Compared to some welding I've seen and had done though mine isn't the worst lol
