il stick to my baxi gas backboiler and fire its lasted 27 years and still in good nick . the only cost a 3 quid thermocouple and a pump and a diverter valve 75 quid
i just want a lister cold start and plenty of free veg oil to run it on forget the sv pannels
650 rpm water cooled not too much noise
oh well i dont have one. yet anyway
Like mine you mean !! I have a CS 6/1 Startomatic, there's a pic of it in my gallery.
Had a plan to use it in a CHP system running on filtered WMO but for various reasons it hasn't happened, one day I hope.
I was looking into the panels, got quotes from 3 companies, and the distinct feeling that most of them were cowboys! Remember the early double-glazing days? I'd leave it a year or so, let the new tariff kill off the cowboys, then speak to some of the survivors.
Our Baxi Backboiler 36+ Years Old, Already In Here When We Moved In When I Was A Kid, Serviced Every So Often, Only Had 2 Pumps The Original Failed About 10 Years Ago.
Me Brother Has Had 4 Condensing Combi Bits Of Rubbish In About 15 Years
Any Advance On 36

Shox D The biggest quandary I have is the whole system can be bought for around £5k-7K but you will not get the FIT because it was not installed by a registered installer. So is it better to fit yourself and save the £5-8k the installer wants for fitting it. With no FIT or Pay £11-15K and get FIT[/QUOTE said:Same here, has to be installed by a reg. co. or no tax rebate or contract to sell energy to EDF. Round about € 14K after the rebate. This is for 3kw, more than that, you are commercial and the tarif drops. I would rather buy the kit and use it for water heating or other non mains stuff. But then a solar water heating kit is less than that. (Plus, I did a stint designing solar water equipement, so might as well build my own)
As for sellers being cowboys. There was a slight double glazed feel about them. I asked what voltage the panels were. Didn't know
