Ha, they probably were!
You know I’m probably going to be bombarding you with questions at some point Pete?
One quick one while you’re here.... I’m assuming the little wooden handle on the leadscrew hand wheel is meant to turn freely?
At the moment it doesn’t but I don’t want to risk damaging it.
Didnt notice its screw positionI like the fact the screw runs through the bed it’s a Little different and unique. It’s also a good design thing imo as mine is forever picking up swarf in the threads.
I don't know how you have been on this site so long and managed to resist the temptation till now.I’ve fancied a small lathe for a long time so I couldn’t resist it Steve, especially at the price you were asking.
Probably because I’ve already got 2 compressors, 5 welders and 2 bandsaws taking up most of my garage floorspace...... plus an old mini in bits which I’ve probably had for 10 years but barely touched.I don't know how you have been on this site so long and managed to resist the temptation till now.

The handle is probably a nice hardwood since it was a lot more prevalent back then.
