Mate sent me this today. He was putting a shelf over a radiator and pierced a heating pipe. Are they allowed to put pipework where they like in new build houses ?
Is the foil behind the pipes a rudimentary insulation or is it so you can detect them ?
I’d never have a new build but he never seems to learn, on his 4th and endless problems with every one

as they could be anywhere in the walls at any angle .no set pattern . its not 2 bad if you pierce one on a sealed heating system as it soon stops once the pressure drops and vacuums vented is a real bummer and floods the place till the tank empties after turned off
