Been trying to weigh that up this afternoon. Its easy enough, just time comsuming. It was £46 aftermarket. JD was £76! So eother way i sort of expected something with tidy edges! Is it somewhere you can easily access if it doesn’t work or somewhere that’s going to require major surgery to get it out again?
I guess it depends on the cost vs convenience if it goes mammaries skywards?
I think you’ve got case for asking for a refund of it came like that from supplier - can’t help you as to whether it would leak or not but I can’t say I’d be happy fitting something like that!Been trying to weigh that up this afternoon. especially if its a lot of work to strip again .Unfortunately seals and bearings are one of those places where you just cannot skimp
My worry is that this is the get out for anything I fit. I am not a professional. I can do the job fine - have rebuilt land rovers for years but on the odd occasion I have had to return parts theres always an undertone that it was my fault. (In the land rover world, learning early on not to buy Britpart meant most parts were decent quality)Warrantythey will say damaged in fitting
I can't remember if I've told you this Rich but you know what it's like between OE, OEM and after market parts in the LR world. Its not hard to get, just a waste of time. £76 just sounded pretty extortionate for the genuine part. Its a zf 300 series axle (apl325) so theres a chance ford/nh seals are the same and might be cheaper. I think corteco make them but im only getting them on US sites at the moment.
