Due to diminished strength I use all sorts of devices to still be able to play with my toys
One such device is a small electric hoist (Aldi or Lidl special) like this which is attached to the hefty carport frame (which is made out of scaffolding and KeeKlamps so easily can take the strain) -
I need to make a more adaptable way of mounting so it'll swivel in different directions for lifting anywhere via the snatch block and am thinking of making one out of a swivel scaffolding fitting.
I've got some cast iron types like this -
Do you think the centre pin is strong enough for use as a swivel ? It wouldn't be swiveled under load - only when unloaded and cable being routed to where ever the snatch block is attached. There would, however, be sideways load on the pin.
Cheers.
