Worn steering wheel

The steering wheel on my Citroen relay van has worn through the hard cover leaving a horrible foam inner exposed ( I guess driving with greasy hands doesn't help) as a new one is over £400 is there anything that can be sprayed over it to recover it.

Unfortunately like all modern stuff there's 6 different variants for the 2016 model. Depending on controls for touchscreen sat nav.

Some of the sellers give the part numbers, plus it makes sense to take a good look at the images and info, and only buy if you're certain.

My Transit steering wheel looked awful, then my son bought a leather cover of eBay less than 20 quid for my Birthday. He then sat in my transit for about an hour stitching it on, and it looks great, better that the original.

I put a sewn on leather cover on the Disco. Bit of a faff but looked good and lasted well

if you look at many vintage cars (proper ones, not classics) many simply used string to wrap around the rim of the steering wheel.
