As above has anyone got any space saving tips to generate extra space in the workshop?

I need a tardis workshop 10 times bigger on the inside!

depends on your roof height for upper storage and wall space for shelves

i just use as small a bench as possible for mounting things like lathes, my bench drill is on a stand that pivots so drill can be swung out of the way. Utilise under bench storage, i welded bits of angle to the inside of the legs and put some thick ply on them to make quite large shelves that hold alot. My rolla cab box fits under the welding bench too and everything else is in the van lol

Use the space around your head.
Put up a partition wall so you have more wall space.
Get some small-drawer units to put small stuff in.
Get rid of duplicate tools.
Sling out/sell stuff you've kept for years 'just in case' but never actually used and keep the money to buy stuff you actually need as you need it.

All equipment on wheels so you can move it out of the way. Even my enormous 10" wheel double grinder and my Pedrazzoli cut off saw are on wheels

I'm gonna have to do something as I've just bought a cold saw with roller feed and a "quicky" straight line burner that I need to find a home for.

in thinking of making a folding/portable welding table that i can just throw in the van so i have a vice and something solid to weld on when im on the farm fixing all the stuff his boy drives the tractor over. Would be able to remove my welding table from the shed then too

My welding bench is 8'x4' I've been toying with the idea of cutting it down but it's so handy when building big frames

Yeah, there is no easy answer , I just put in a bid to buy the plot of land next door so I can build a bigger workshop..with off road parking for me truck ...and convert my very small workshop into a self contained bed sit/ guest room..with galley kitchen and shower ,loo.etc ... so far no go......it would be great .... but they don't want to sell .....jeff.....

Using every available inch of wall and roof space is one way of possibly gaining some space. Any permanently located tools/machines you can stack vertically with some weird and wonderful shelving/rack method? Half the time, certain tools/machines which are taking up valuable bench or floor space can be put on swinging brackets, put or stored underneath something etc. Try thinking vertically instead of horizontally. That's where your main gains will likely be.

Btw, you'll never have enough space.

I think I've came up with a plan, I'm think I'm going to have to evict the wheeled bench my toolbox lives on and houses my steel off cuts.

By moving the surf on to my main workbench and the steel off cuts I will build a purpose built rack that fits into an otherwise unusable pice of space some ware.

Ain't that the truth. Making sure you make any storage sheds slightly smaller than vehicle size is a smart idea too. It removes the 'retirement project' temptation....

There's one of them in there too that I need to finish and evict.

only if shese good looking has a good job and wants an afair im sick of getting all the loosers and having to pay for everything

Do what I did: find a woman who earns three times as much as me and owns a workshop bigger than my own house

Then don't move in with her
