Hi everyone,
I came across this site while searching the net for MIG related topics. I have been a fitter/ fabricator for a number of years but have had to give it up due to health matters.
I am used to working with both MIG and Arc welding eqpt. but always the industrial type used in engineering workshops and garages.
Due to a combination of boredom and getting under the wifes feet I thought I would erect a workshop in my back garden and build some garden furniture, patio fencing and such like for her garden. I started looking at appropriate MIG welders which is one of the few things I don't have,
I like the Clarke 151TE but it being only a 13amp supply I feel it might be prone to overheating. I know a little about electricity etc but not much about phases. My question being, is it possible to run a 20amp welder off of the electric cooker outlet fitted in the kitchen of my house?.Could anyone suggest a model in the £200-£250 range.
I would also appreciate any ideas some of you might have on any other projects it is feasible to do on a home workshop basis. I have a mind to build one of those smoker/barbecues that the Americans are so much into with a view to selling it but am not sure if it is feasible. Any advice/ ideas would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.
