Well how thin are we talking.Did the one sill tonight, was very difficult with the sill being paper thin, blew through a couple of times but got there in the end, not really looking forward to doing the other side tomorrow, any tips for welding such thin steel?

The idea is to cut out the real thin stuff till your up to something that is solid and will take a weld.
I know in some cases it is like chopping half the car away but if you don't you'll end up doing it again very shortly.

Try the scrap bins of a fabrication company, I can get 0.9mm and 1mm sheet upto 750mm square from the scrap skip of a company on the local trading estate, they don't mind so long as you don't take the Pi55.I cant get my hands on any mild steel, only stainless, thus why i asked the question in the beginning, to get a better understanding of how difficult it would be, and although its not ideal it was at least doable
