I thought all employers have to pay SSP once you have been with the company for a given time, especially those under contract and not self employed within a company?

they have to pay ssp after the 1st week and you needed a sicknote, dunno how it works now but you got 75 quid a week some firms pay out a fortune for the 1st 6 month

Yes I got ssp, it was £86 a week after the 1st week.
