Following on from my previous thread, I have a small problem with the Hob on my homemade Wood Stove.
The wood stove itself is working brilliantly (Too good in fact, I keep having to strip off! )
One minor niggle is the hob I fitted to the top is not getting hot enough, it just about boils a kettle but it takes an absolute age to warm up
Any ideas how I can improve the hob performance, I would like to cook things on it
The hob consists of a central ring of steel approx. 4" outside diameter with a 3" Internal diameter and approx. 1/2" thick fully welded to the top of the stove.
A 7" square plate is fully welded to the ring, and then 1" diameter legs are fully welded into each corner.
I guess I need to get the plate closer to the top???
I did think about cutting the existing hob off of the top of the cylinder leaving an approx. 8" round hole, and then welding a 8" Disc of 1/4" plate into the hole.
Any ideas greatly appreciated
Andy
