waste oil wont soak in very well .thin it down with parafin or use proper creosoteI have some telegraph poles to build a pole barn ,they’ll bolt to a steel foundation plate,so will be 15mm above ground surface,I want to soak the ends in my waste oil drum,upright,how long to leave them immersed? This. They are way better than tantalised posts. Way better.I wouldn't bother, I have used chopped up telegraph poles as is for farm gate posts out in the fields, they are in clay that never really dries and are all still good thirty+ years later.

yes i was told it rots the wood eventualy but i cant see it myself id use it if its cheapIs red diesel suitable,just that it’s easier to get.
