Well. Reading on this and maaany other welding sites has given a lil info about my new welder. Not much has been really figured out online though??
The setting issues i was having answered were kind of already assumed. I know...that word...ass...u....me?? Well its true. 1-2/min-max/ dial 1-10, sorta self explanitory. But it does help to double check to aleviate any what ifs in the back of ur mind. So the forums definately been helpfull in that aspect. The "sizzling bacon" videos.... kinda had that down cuz u cant get any kind of bead ran without the even arc. Most has been figured out on a blend of different metal scraps laying around in hands on try outs. Its very touch an go with these machines. Same is true for any and all machines though. If it aint dialed in or applied right it just frustrates the hell outta ya.
Gas, no gas, good wire, bad wire, up, down, sideways, a hair off where or what angle ur holding the torch, whether ur tips not close enough to the end of the shroud.... so many things to take into account as ur learning (or relearning on a different type of machine?), Its just plain frustrating.
Whats worse though, i think, is i did research when i was looking for a welder?? Thats what makes me upset. I considered harbor frieghts 90A, only cuz id found one on craigslist still boxed, never opened for $40?? Thats less than half what the store wanted new. Good, bad to ok reviews. Was sold mins before callin. Saved my butt there i guess?? So i looked around forEVER!!! Coulda got a miller 180 or somethin like that,$75 used....sold!! Crrrrap.
Next came accross a older lincoln somethin or other arc welder (big spark box on wheels) sure, sticks leave a gross mess?? But i got a friend that lived by the stick. Broke a crossmember in his big ol blazer 4x4, couldnt afford a new one, so he welded probly a week, probly 100 sticks?? Hes still been climbing mountains an drivin thru creeks 10 years later...not one problem.
Seems unbelievable but u can break a crossmember if u land right?? Or wrong?? U can still see the ugly weld. Didnt bother removing the scrap he tacked on to hold it all in place?? Im kickin myself for not getn that old ice cream cart spark box. But my club buddy said, "stick!!! NOOOO.EEEWW.UGLY" but i woulda known what i was getn into???
So, now i got this box. Was lookin at a similar one saved online. Was mig110 same maker, $200 with shipping. Mixed reviews but ok?? Then this mig 130 shows up in my auto search, $389 55% off free shipping. Cant remember or find the orig listing?? But $170 made by some company stark industrial or somethin?? Go Iron man!!! Anyways, I bought it. Has STARK CE on the side, the T is a hammer?? But the "book"-4 page pamphlet says congradulations on owning your first WOLFWELD mig gasless welder!!! Huh?? So its advertized clarke first, stark in the description, and wolf on the paper??? Thats some funny crap??
Ive had to google all these "companies" to learn that no one knows who actually made this thing?? Its for a 110 outlet, the pics in the book are of welders of the 220 outlet versions.. this is just hellarious. If u have any issues with this product contact us... but no #, no www.??
And im reading on forums that switching the polarity is what gasless mig welders like?? But i open the box and it dont look like any of the welders in videos where u can switch the wires?? 3 wires come from the torch sleeve. one wire is both yellow and green=earth, brown=live, and blue=neutral?? And on the other side is the ground clamp, its wire is black and insulated and it runs somewhere in the coiled heart of the machine??
Bassedackwards!! And on top of it all my torch is the continuous on type talked about in 2008-9??? Thats not a huge deal. Just irritating with my auto dark helmet. But to avoid the surprise arc if i have extra hang out wire i just touch it to the table till it burns back where i want it?? So. There it is. My new subject on the ups an downs of new gasless mig welders. Funny huh?? If anyone happens to come accross or know the # to the actual maker of this weird box, please post here?? I got some questions for them??
Remember...advertized clarke ce, stark ce (T is a hammer), paper says wolfweld, oh its yellow black letters, could be black with white or red letters?? And it could be yellow, still have a black CE, but instead a stark it may say xXtreme power in red on the side?? These are all the differences in description i got during and after buying this thing. So far as i know, i have a lifetime limited two year mixed warranty on this thing, but no place to call to enforce warrantee or even get help if somethin goes wrong. Aint that special????
Good day to all.
