Morning all...had me eyes on this wns metal shears for a while..had a good look about and this one is the biggest bench mounted ones I could find.now it says it can cut maximum of 10mm on flat plate.have any of you guys have such machines and are the cutting figures accurate. .10mm plate is a tidy thickness to cut...doing it with the grinder is hassle.need to update some of my kit...

That one in the photo is the bigger LC14 and will do 90mm x 14mm according the the spec sheet, the LC10 does 100mm x 10mm. I wonder if you need to be fit or heavy to cut 14mm?

Should be more than enough for the stuff I do.just a cleaner more effective way of cutting plate ect..... will get one I thinks....

I remember a hand shear at one of the places I worked which would cut 10mm but it wanted a really good pull to do it. Here's a tube video of a different model on 3mm and 6mm.

Even though my trade many years ago was sheet metal and plating work and the workshop had every heavy duty machine you can think of, I can't remember ever cutting 10mm plate in a hand guillotine.

My present, fairly hefty guillotine needs a fair bit of effort to go through 5mm, 10mm I am sure would be way beyond it.

That's what I was thinking. 10mm is a fair old thickness. .maximum I cut is 5mm....
