Wiring Sherman 200ACDC multipulse

Hi,
I just moved from MIG welding to TIG welding and purchased a cheap Sherman 200ACDC multipulse...

I would like to try and make a footpedal for it, as you can’t buy them.

The only thing I have to go on is the diagram I attached to this… I have found no way of contacting Sherman.

I have attempted to build a pedal, but I failed because I couldn’t work out the pins correctly.

Can anybody give me some tips on pin testing, or alternative ways of figuring this out?

The english translation of the manual for my welder has the contact details at the end of it.

Might be worth an email to them to check the wireing.

If I had to guess I would try a variable ressistor on the three pins coming from the remote board and another one on the other 3 wires. (but ask them first so the magic smoke doesn't come out )

Just a thought

You should be able to find the ground pin as it "should" have continuity to one of the switch socket pins.

Thats kind of odd and super unhelpful.

Phone them back and ask how much a foot peddle is and where you can buy one, maybe they will get the point?

Thanks for the details, I have been trying to call them but nobody is picking up.
I phoned Sherman again ad asked if they sold a pedal for it... the guy recognised my voice then told me ‘we don’t share the pin diagrams’ he then hung up.
Kind of annoying and unprofessional

Reckon the 3 pins on right are for display on torch. 3 pins on left pedal. Have a block diagram from the JT200DS TIG but it only has 5 pin plug.
The SW comes out of module GH- 107-A1 (2pin) On the 6pin socket 3 go to module GDK54 (remote board) & 3 to GDK56 ( display board)

It says Welding holder T-26 / 4m with regulation in the handle . So suggest it is Digital regulation torch as it only has buttons as far as I can see from picks.

Yeah,
When I wired one up I managed to get the remote light to turn on, and the welder activated when the pedal was depressed.
However you could not set the amperage and the potentiometer in the pedal would not adjust the amperage.

One thing I am unsure of, does the two pin plug and the six pin plug have to be connected to the pedal, or just the 6 pin?
I could only get it to work when I wired the switch in the pedal to the 2 pin, and everything else to the 6 pin.

I have lost my notes on my original wiring unfortunately, as I have been trying to do this for quite a while...

My torch only has: up amp, down amp, on/off.

I originally worked out the wiring by pinning the torch, however one of the pins was still left unconnected...

I will have to pin them out again and tell you what they were, as I had a lost my original working writing.

I just remembered, pin 4 was left unconnected... two are connected together

2-connected to up + down amp
3-down amp
4-Nothing

If you cut link does the set still work with the other switch? or is the link a short for other SW

Remote light comes on automatically as soon as the 6 pin is inserted... I tried it anyway, but it didn’t do anything.
The switch is Controlled by the other 2 pin plug.

I've got the 200GD the remote has to be activated with the button on the front panel. Only took me a while to figure that out as the manual doesn't even mention the foot pedal.
