wiring a 3 phase inverter

Morning all,
Has anyone wired a Eurotherm 601 inverter before,ive just bought one on ebay and it comes with a product manual which doesnt illustrate the terminals etc very well,ive tried googling it but cant seem to find anything relevent,im fairly confident with electrics but have never wired a 240-3ph inverter before and want to make sure i do it properly.

Even if someone could tell me whats what,ive got terminals:

Supply PE (earth?)
L1
L2/N
M1/U
M2/V
M3/W
Supply PE

And then control terminals 1 to 10 above them.

I assume that the 240v supply goes into L1 and L2 and the top Supply PE and the 3 phase going to drill goes into the U,V,W and Supply PE at bottom?

And i dont need to use the control terminals?

You are mostly correct.

Supply PE (earth?) - Supply Protective Earth
L1 - Supply Live
L2/N - Supply Neutral

M1/U - Motor winding
M2/V - Motor winding
M3/W - Motor winding
Supply PE - Motor Earth

You will need to set the inverter up for your motor, and also set up the control and setpoint for the inverter. This is what the control terminals are for, typically;

enable
enable - reverse
jog pos
jog neg
analogue speed setpoint

or similar - the manual should explain the commissioning procedure. You may well be able to use the operator panel for control, or the I/O, or a mix of the two.

I would expect you to have the motor in Delta. If the motor doesn't turn the way you expect it to, just swap two of the phases over.

Seems about right. My TECO one is similar.

Better if you can get a manual and use the control terminals as well. Means you can mount a remote switch and emergency stop at the machine.

I do not know this specific model, but these would be my general recommendations:
Configure the 3-phase motor for 240V Delta ( which usually means setting the three links in the motor terminal box to the vertical positions ).
Earth the motor frame and the case of the inverter ("PE").
Connect the motor to the inverter with three short direct wires ("UVW").
Do not have any switchgear ( switches, motor starters, circuit breakers ) between the inverter and the motor.
Connect 240VAC mains input to the inverter via a double-pole switch ("L1L2").
You may need to use the control terminals as well, depending on whether the inverter is already fitted with a control panel.
